The equipping and treasure hunt session of the Rain Down Ohio Conference is a crash course on how to bring heaven to earth in everyday life. Through the word, practical hands-on training, and a treasure hunt, believers will learn what it means to bring heaven to earth, how to seek the Lord for direction, and how to put His directions into action.
What is a Treasure Hunt?
To put it plainly, a treasure hunt is a scavenger hunt for lost souls. During a brief time of prayer and worship, a group of believers will ask the Lord for words of knowledge or clues, to lead them to specific people or treasures He would have them minister to. Then each person will write down the clues such as names, location, appearance, prayer needs, etc., on what is called a “treasure map.” The group then breaks down into teams of 3-5 people who combine and compare their treasure maps to determine a starting location. After determining the starting location based on their treasure maps, the hunt begins!
Why do a treasure hunt rather than another form of evangelism?
All forms of evangelism are great and have their place in the body but treasure hunts help equip and prepare saints to respond to the leading of the Holy Spirit in everyday situations no matter if they’re at work, at home, or at the mall. While a treasure hunt may be an event, it is intended to cultivate a Spirit led lifestyle so that believers can be salt and light more effectively in everyday life.
What will the practical hands-on training consist of?
Believers will learn how to gently approach treasures using the treasure maps. Believers will also learn a simple healing ministry prayer model that encourages communication with those receiving prayer while enabling them to be completely led by the Holy Spirit.
